(continuation)
today we headed out to hike up a coastal trail. this was far and away the biggest adventure we had the whole trip, but i'll let the pictures tell the tale.

a sprouted seed.

i finally got a good shot of the little lizards. they are extremely fast and extremely shy.

saw a nice little waterfall along the trail.

got to see our first real live kava plant.

more funky rocks. these are volcanic and they landed on large beds of coral. so you can see the coral eroding out from under the rocks and leaving them on pedestals. the strange thing is that the beach is covered with numerous small rocks, but everything is frozen in place because the hot volcanic rock fused with the coral when it hit.

a pair of rocks.

frank and emilija, on the rocks.

ray giving us his best arthur murray smile.

back to the hike.

we found a pineapple plant. it was outrageous to see pineapple just growing out of the middle of some leaves.
