today we headed out to hike up a coastal trail. this was far and away the biggest adventure we had the whole trip, but i'll let the pictures tell the tale.

the start of the trail was in a village and what did we find there but live chicken meat birds.

the trail went alongside the beach. it was strange to be covered in dense jungle only a few meters from the beach.

there were some great big old trees on the path.

and some that were no longer on the path.

this clever palm tree will be dropping its coconuts into the water where they will float off to other islands and expand the coconut empire.

we passed a little bure tucked back in the bushes.
